Crochet Pattern for scented oils

I love scented oils.  I love the ancient smell of Egyptian Musk, Frankincense & Myrrh, Sandalwood and Blue Nile.  and I also love giving them away as gifts to my friends and family.  and when I do, I give them away in their very own crochet drawstring bag with wooden beads.

Here's a crochet pattern requested by some of my Youtube viewers.  It is a drawstring bag for scented oils.  It is very simple and quick to make.  These were my stocking stuffers this holiday.  Enjoy.

Yarn hunting in Savannah Georgia

Got on a Greyhound bus today and headed down to Savannah Georgia. It's about 2.5 hours from Macon.  I love Savannah's downtown historic district.   Plenty of cafes, boutiques, restaurants, and art.  and I love that it's bike friendly.  I wish I can take my bike with me next time.

Anyway, I didn't want to be just a tourist today.  I wanted this trip to have some purpose.  So my first stop is to go yarn hunting.  Luckily, there's a yarn shop just a few blocks away from the Greyhound bus station.  It literally took me 5 to 6 minutes of walking.  Thanks to my sidekick, my smartphone, it gave me turn by turn walking direction.

I end up at Frayed Knot yarn shop.  I've been dreaming about this moment.  It was so much to take in.  The bad thing was, I forgot today was my trip to Savannah and I didn't save money to buy the amount of yarn I wanted.
But I still walk away with some yarn and some cool crochet needle.  I had to patronize the shop.  I came along way.  I love yarn display in the shop and guy at the store was so friendly.

He's holding the yarn I purchased.  They were 50% off.  Amazing deal.
I'm definitely coming back to shop.  and I'm going to learn to knit this year.  Thanks to his inspirational words.

Another great year with Etsy

Sometimes, I still can't believe that my crochet hobby is actually profitable.  I wanted to share with you all my stats for the last 3 years with etsy.

I began my etsy shop in Jan of 2012.  I wasn't expecting to make alot of money.  I was just giving it a try.  I was happy making an average of $100 per month.  I thought that was awesome.  Anything to supplement my income.   It was also the year quickly realize that you can make good money around Christmas or the Holiday season.  So don't wait to crochet in the fall.  Start stacking your products and goods now.

For the 2013, I was amazed that I nearly double what I made last year and my monthly average earnings were increasing.  Etsy continue to add and improve their site and I love seeing and being a part of that.  It made me appreciate etsy more.

So for 2014, as I view my shop stats, I am thankful again for another great year with etsy.  And as you can see I almost double what I made previous year.

If you have any questions regarding selling on etsy, let me know, and I'll do my best to share you my experience.  My email is handmadebyhaniyyah @ gmail.com
