Lunch at the Park

We tend to take advantage beautiful days such as today.  With all the rain and gloomy days we've been getting it was nice to see the sun out.  We grabbed lunch to go from a local Caribbean restaurant and decided to eat at the Tattnal Square park.

Curry chicken meal

It was good to see the park under construction.  They are adding a fountain which reminded me of the water fountain feature in Savannah Georgia.

They also added these column at the entrance

and I love this new organic swing.  Literally made out of just wood and ropes.

the park as usual looks tidy and well maintained.

afterwards, we watch the sunset and walked around the park before heading home.

It seems I am never prepared whenever Michaels have their yarn sale.

Impeccable Loop & Thread yarn usually cost $3.49 per skein but today they are only $1.99 per skein.  Hoping to come back and grab more before the sale ends.  To get notifications of their yarn sale, sign up either at the store or online to receive email notifications.

Romantic Lazy Shawl Pattern

Back in July, I learned the "Romantic Lazy Shawl" crochet pattern on the back of ball of yarn.  And I have been in love with this pattern ever since.  I've used it for all sort of things.  Here's my recent project with this pattern.

I made one into an afghan.  I love the colors and the outcome.

Flower Power!

cause my love knows, it takes only one flower to put a smile on my face

Crochet cover up

I'm a free spirit, but I'm still too modest to leave the Yoga studio with my yoga outfit on.  thus the crochet cover up.

I made on one night binging on Netflix.  Made with two spool of medium worsted yarn by Michaels.

Crochet headband

Love making crochet headbands.  I give mine an extra width to serve dual purposes.  and you can wear 'em in two ways.

Not only does it keep your hair in place, it also serves as ear warmers.

USB wall charger

I was at the atl airport recently and noticed that the power charger socket on the wall were made to fit USB cell phone charger.  I was amazed at the upgrade.  So I was even amazed that I can have this convenience at home.  My budget will not allow for a wireless charger just yet.  But I did order this 4 port usb wall charger on ebay.  and it has been a blessing.

It works great and organizes my charging station way better.  No more looking to pair USB chargers.  I can now charge multiple things on one charger without having to pair them with prongs.  So for $10 bucks this was definitely a must have.

I can now charge my phone, mp3 player, tablet, and bluetooth speaker with ease.

Crochet Hexagon Sweater

One of my favorite thing to crochet is this hexagon sweater.  It is so easy to crochet.  It is made of two piece of hexagon shape. Folded in an L shape.  I am planning to do a tutorial on YouTube so  make sure to subscribe to my channel.  http://www.YouTube.com/alicmiran

crochet hexagon sweater.  I used an 11.5 mm crochet hook or size "P"

Crochet Cover Up

Ordered something online at walmart and waiting for them to process my order.  While I wait for them, I wanted to share this with you guys.  I made it last night cause it's not cold enough for a sweater but I felt improper with just my yoga outfit on.

Ottis Redding Park in Macon Georgia

I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful day today.  It has been raining for almost two weeks here in middle Georgia, so I was happy to see that the clouds have subsided and the sun is out.  Went for a walk and ended up at the Ottis Redding Park, to find that it is partially under water.

I found me a spot in front of the water fountain to catch up on some reading.
I am thankful for my simple easy life.

Crochet "V" stitch

Just learned this stitch last week and I'm still hooked on it.  I've already completed a few project with it.  The "V" stitch.

It is very simple technique.  There are multiple ways of crocheting it.
with the crochet can cover and tea light candle cover, I used two slightly different technique.
insert 2 dc in same stitch and skip a stitch and simple repeat
the other way, for a more pronounce V stitch, you skip 2 stitches and dc, ch1, dc in the next stitch.

I'll be posting this technique to my YouTube channel, if you want to check it out.
