Crocheting for Baby Yoda

Made baby Yoda, aka "Grogu"a new outfit with matching bag for his trinket and because it's cold outside, a crochet hat to help keep him warm.  I was browsing through my phone images and saw that I had crochet him an outfit before. Comparing the other crochet sweaters I made him, this color combo was best.  So with a little upgrade in the pattern, I crochet him a new full body sweater in two town of brown.  I just used an acrylic yarn from Joann Fabrics.

My New Year Resolution is NO SHOPPING! for 2024

 I will not buy no

  1. New or Old clothes
  2. Shoes
  3. Any kind of electronic Gadget (even the one on my list right now like the Apple Air Tag.  or I might just buy them before 2023 ends.
  4. Yarn

What I will buy and need to purchase are:

  1. Hygiene products (pads, tooth paste, toothbrush and soap). I already don't use deodorant or any perfume.  But that's another subject.
  2. Household cleaning products.  that's a must have right.  I got to wash dishes and do laundry.  So I'm gonna need laundry detergent.  But I don't use none of those dry sheets, or fabric softener.
and since Amazon.com has sent notification that they are going to include advertisement to Prime Video, I am planning to get rid of it.  I'm paying it off and goodbye to Amazon.com No more prime day no more late 2 day shipping.  No more fake Amazon reviews.  No more shopping with Amazon.  Let see how long this will last :)

Christmas & Crochet

Christmas and crochet, a cozy pair

With yarn and hook, we show we care From stockings to sweaters, scarfs and more We create gifts, that will forever be adored

The fire is crackling, the tree is lit With each stitch made, our hearts knit The yarn is soft, like falling snow As we make something beautiful, for those we know

With every loop and knot, we put our love Into every gift, like a glove The colors are bright, the patterns unique As we make something special, that will make hearts speak

Christmas and crochet, a joyous thing Together, our love for each other will always sing So let us gather, hook and yarn in hand And make something beautiful, that will forever stand

Pimping my Bike with Crochet

I got a plastic basket from the Dollar Tree and crochet a  cover for it to match my bicycle color scheme.

Thank I added a water bottle holder to hang on the handle bar

I love the progress so far.

Crochet Bicycle Skirt Guard
My 3rd attempt.  So working on another version.  Apparently 15 rows is enough height but I am over 3 or 4 rows too much.

I also would like to make saddle seat cover and another large basket to sit on my rear rack.  As I stated on my last post.  I wanted to use this bike as a way to advertise my crochet around town.  Here is a sample of what the actual plan looks like:

I’m gonna zip tie yard sign on each side of the rack.  This is a standard size yard sign (18x24)
I’m excited.  Will post more update soon.

Got a new beach cruiser

We were visiting a pawn shop last month.  And bought this not so new beach cruiser bicycle.

Stay tune to see how I’m planning on yarn bombing this bike.  Okay maybe not a yarn bomb more like a “pimp my ride with crochet”.

And I think it will be a great idea to attach my yarn sign to help me advertise my crochet around town.

Bought this bike in November 29.  I’ll be posting more about this project very soon.  So stay tune.

I got a new Shuttle Bus

Well. It’s not new.  I won it on an auction.  And I think I got a pretty good price for it.

Yes, I won it at a auction.  A 2014 Ford Econoline Cutaway.   It’s a 450 series.  I have many plans for it.  Maybe a bus conversion???? Or a crochet bus?  Deck out like it puked crochet???  Lol!!  But I am very excited and happy with my new Shuttle Bus.

This is actually the 2nd bus I won in a government auction.  The first one was a not so short schoolie bus.  It was a 30 passenger bus with a chair lift.  Right now it serves as a storage.  But I have plans for both.

Quick update:  JANUARY 1, 2024

YES, Its New Year’s day.

I love the fact that I can fold the seat down and fold them away sideways towards the walls or windows.  Now I have an ope floor plan.  I had a chance to give a quick sweep and wipe down last week.

Repurposing an Old Tshirt for adding Tags for My Crochet Goods

I am so excited about my new DIY tags.  You probably have seen those beanies with custom leather tags added to them.  I just thought those are so adorable and added the ultimate customization and branding to any crochet or handmade wear.  But I thought there must be a way for me to create my own tags without using any animal skin.  And Yes there is.

These are made using a Tshirt that I messed up during production.  I do Tshirt for a full time job.  So I have plenty of Tshirts from production that misprints or have some errors.  And Instead of throwing them away… I kept most or some.
These is how they are made:
I used a dark paper transfer.  I was able to make 46 tags per T-shirt.  But I’m pretty sure you can triple  or quadruple the amount you can print on a Tshirt.  Because all you have to do is fill the Tshirt with Transfer Paper.
I used a 11x17 heat transfer paper and printed on a regular inkjet.
But you can simply used 8.5 x 11 on any inkjet printer.

Happy Thanksgiving Crocheters!!

Thanksgiving and crochet, a warm embrace

With yarn and hook, we show our grace From table runners to turkey cozies We create decorations, that bring warmth and cozy

The fire is burning, the table is set With each stitch made, our hearts are met The yarn is soft, like the autumn leaves As we make something cozy, for all to please

With every loop and knot, we put our love Into every decoration, like a glove The colors are warm, the patterns inviting As we make something special, that will make hearts uniting

Thanksgiving and crochet, a loving thing Together, our family and friends will always sing So let us gather, hook and yarn in hand And make something beautiful, that will forever stand

With our loved ones by our side, and a feast to share We give thanks, for the warmth and love that's always there.

Handmade Crochet AirPods Case

I’ve made crochet AirPods case before but this is just plain genius.
quick to make, and ingenious design.  Because of the size of this item, the best crochet stitch to use is “Single crochet”.

Got this idea from Pinterest.  And if you would like a pattern or buy one… visit my website here

The pattern is not available just yet… but I am working on it.  If you’re interested, email me at handmadebyhaniyyah@gmail.com or follow me on YouTube and I’ll upload a video tutorial.

Crochet Granny Square Afghan

Do they still call them that? Afghan?  I’ve been saving tons of granny square here and there and finally decided to put them together with orange (with fall in mind) and this beautiful “Blush Rose” yarn from Michaels’ Craft Smart Value collection.  I’m on my third skein of 7oz 354 yards.

Michael’s Craft Smart Value Yarn in Blush Rose

Instead of your typical black yarn, I opt for this soft pastel pink.  And I think it turned out beautiful.
But I still have ways to go.  I have enjoyed my weekend crocheting these granny square together.  What did you do this weekend?

Crocheting for Christmas Sales

This homemade (DIY) photo studio is a game changer.  The cup cozy image below was taken using this DIY photo booth.

I used an entire skein of red yarn to make some red and green coffee cozies and mug cozies.
I’m always late stocking up and crocheting items for Christmas.  This is year is no different.  Every January, I tell myself that I will start making Christmas crochet stuff.  But I fail each year.  To remedy that I am planning on starting a planner and follow whatever schedule I make for the entire year.

Anyway, with one skein of yarn, I made about 20 of these.  Not bad.
It’s a very simple pattern.  With a foundation row of 30 chains, form a circle.
First row is a row of single crochet.
2nd and the following row is a row of single crochet and chain one.  Repeat single crochet and chain one for the entire row.
I love this crochet pattern.  It reminds me of basket weave.

Here is another free image of a ball of yarn and a crochet hook.

Thank you stickers for my crochet shop

While I was designing postcards this weekend for my shop, I also designed some thank you stickers.  Planning on printing these at home with standard label sheets and die cutting them with my Cricut.  I just have to wait until my labels and laminating sheets arrive.  Hopefully they will be here this week.  I can't wait to produce them.  I might up went a little overboard.  Because I made over 10 variants.  check them out below.

I am full time graphic artist for my day job and crocheting is my dream job (which I do when I can).  So if you need help in your marketing print collaterals, leave me a comment below.
I design, business cards, postcards, stickers like the one you see above, posters, banners, yard signs and more.

My DIY of a Photo Studio Light Box

I would love to take photos of my crochet goods in natural lights.  But I work all day, Monday - Friday.  and by the time I get home, it's dark.  and my weekends is filled with cleaning chores.  and sometimes if the weather permits... I get to take some photos.... outside.

But I don't need to wait for the weekend or a good light day, I just DIY my very own PHOTO STUDIO LIGHT BOX.  Those light box can get very expensive.  Specially the size that I want.  So I made my very own with the help of my white bookcase shelf.  and the only thing I needed to purchase is an $8.79 Led Strip Light.

Led Strip Light.

here you can see a white posterboard from Dollar Tree that I'm using as a background
I actually use a power bank to power it.  So no need for a power extension.  It's usb powered.

and here is the image I captured.

Revamping my website for a cleaner look.

I spent my weekend, retaking photos and editing them for the website.  I'm revamping and planning on a more clean aesthetic look.  and there's a lot of work.  each category will take a weekend each.  This means I'm gonna be busy for the rest of the year.

Planning on redesigning that ugly logo of mine and upload my new one.

Here's my new logo on this postcard

and I do like the clean look so far.  It's a classic.
