New born baby gift set.
Nothing like a handmade gift set for a new born baby boy.
My daughter's friend is having a baby boy. Now I finally have an excuse to crochet some more. and I've been meaning to try out a new easy pattern to for a baby blanket. And I thought the handmade baby blanket would eve be sweater if I crochet a maching hat. Once I've completed the hat, I thought to myself, why stop there? So off to google.com and search for a diaper cover pattern. and I found this great easy to follow crochet pattern.

Amazon.com vs Barnes and Nobles
So I decided to sell my ebooks with Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles. and here's my take on these two giant book retailers.
First of all I bought the Nook Simple Touch and Nook Color Tablets, because I felt Barnes and Nobles have better e-readers and tablets compared to Amazon.com And then I decided to launched my ebooks with both of them.

With Amazon.com, I have 4 e-books currently for sale and available at their site. Last month, I sold over 140 e-books. and I listed 3 e-books with them in December of 2012. And I joined their KDP Program. But by joining KDP program, I wasn't allowed to sell my ebooks anywhere else even on my very own site for 3 months. This is why I only had 1 ebook for sale at www.BarnesAnd Noble.com I wanted to test the two website.

with Barnes and noble, I only sold 4 ebooks for the month of December and 12 for the month of January. Although I only have two e-books for sale at Barnes Nobles, the stats are still way off compared to Amazon.com The month of January 2013 I sold 458 ebooks on Amazon.com, compare to only 12 with Barnes and Nobles.
Clearly, Amazon.com have way more readers. Obviously its a no brainer to figure out the stats. The best place to sell your e-book is Amazon.com

USPS new price hikes
I'm am in shock about the United States Postal Service recent increase in postage. I understand you have to increase the price for postage and delivery every now and then but this is outlandish, exuberant, or just plain outrageous!
I operate and own a small online shop, and we rely on delivery, of course, of our products to consumers. But I had to make drastic action on my shipping department recently due to USPS price increase. 90% of my products are under 4 to 5 ounces, and what was once use to cost $3 to $4 to ship to Canada and other countries have now doubled. Yes, DOUBLED! That to me just don't make any fucking sense.
You would think, that selling to other countries, would help the USA economy, because we are bringing in money from other countries, right. and that USPS, should do everything they can to accommodate us small business who ships our MADE IN THE USA products to these other countries, but no, they penalized us by doubling the cost to ship out of the country.
I've read the stories and the articles online, on how the USPS is having a financial crisis, but to me, it just don't make any freaking sense. You would think, that they are making more money, because now, more than ever, there are more people like me, running a retail store online as home business. and that millions of people are purchasing goods online instead of going to the mall or shopping centers. It just doesn't make any freaking sense. What they need to do is figure out where the money leaks are, instead of raising the price.

NOW I AM ONE BUSINESS OWNER THAT IS NO LONGER BRINGING IN MONEY FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.
