New site in the works

I am finally taking the time to redesign and relaunch the Handmade by Haniyyah Website.  Here's a quick peek of the homepage.   I am currently filling up the shopping section so you guys can start making your purchase very soon.

I also made the decision not to use my own software to design this site but instead I am giving Wix.com a try.  Pricing seems to be reasonable.  I am mainly concern with the upload time or viewing time.  It seems to have a lag.  I need a site that previews quickly and easily.  But their template editor seems to be easy to use but need some getting use.  There's a lot to learn.

Instructions:

Make a multiple of 4ch + 2

Row 1
1 sc in second ch from hook
*ch5
skip next 3 ch
1sc in next ch, rep from * to end, turn

Row 2
ch1
*work (4sc ch3, 4sc) all in next 5-ch loop
rep from * to end.

Fasten off

Crochet Pattern for Edging

For this month, I plan on focusing on crocheting some edging and will be sharing lots of patterns with you guys.  There are so many uses for crochet edging.  Some of my favorites are adding edging on pillow cases, hand towels, and even skirts and dresses.  So hope you guys will enjoy these patterns as I have.

The first pattern on this series is this "Step Edging".  I've used this pattern to complete a baby blanket. 

Crochet Pattern for Step Edging

Multiple of 4 + 3

Row 1 - 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in each of rem ch 

Row 2 - turn, ch 3, 3 dc in first dc

*skip next 3dc

work (1sc, ch3, 3dc) all in next dc

rep from * to last 3dc

skip last 3dc, 1 sc on top of 3-ch at end.

fasten off.

DIY Yarn Bowl

What do you get when you put together a bowl and a paper clip?

DIY Yarn Bowl

Saw a post on instagram with this technique and had to give it a try.  It's a glass container from Dollar Tree and a paper clip.  It works awesome.  and my yarn cakes fits perfectly inside. The frugal crafter in me is very happy.
