Car Steering Wheel Crochet Cover

It just came to me last night to make an handmade crochet cover for my steering wheel.  Because I'm lazy, I didn't want to search for a pattern.  But I did have a stitch in mind.  So I quickly watched a Youtube video on the shell stitch.  There's no tutorial on YouTube for it, so I had to figure it out on my own.

Here's what I did to crochet my steering wheel cover.

I began with 135 chains.  Formed a circle with a slip stitch.
Then I Single Crochet in each chain, till end of row.  complete this row with a slip stitch.

for the next row (2nd row)  Begin your shell or fan stitch.
ch3, insert 4 dc in same stitch.
*  skip 2 stitch, sc in next stitch, skip 2 stitches,  insert 5 dc in next stitch.
repeat * till end of row

Row 3 - repeat row 2
Row 4 - You gonna want to increase on this row.  So instead of 5dc for your shell stitch, use 6 or 7 dc for the shell stitch.
Row 5 - Repeat row 2 (5dc for your shell stitches)
Row 6 - Repeat row 2 (5dc for your shell stitches)
Row 7 - sc in each stitch.  (decrease in each 5 stitch) and you're all done.
Optional:  Row 8 sc in each stitch.

Securing your cover to the steering wheel.  This is very important.  You must secure your cover to the steering wheel to prevent slippage.  You do not want to loose control of your steering wheel because your cover slips.

I had about 2 yards left on your yarn when I finished my pattern.  I didn't cut this part, instead I crochet a long chain of tail.  So after installing my crochet cover, I used that to zig zag to in and out to secure my pattern to the steering wheel.  and then I tucked in the rest.

Lunch at the Park

We tend to take advantage beautiful days such as today.  With all the rain and gloomy days we've been getting it was nice to see the sun out.  We grabbed lunch to go from a local Caribbean restaurant and decided to eat at the Tattnal Square park.

Curry chicken meal

It was good to see the park under construction.  They are adding a fountain which reminded me of the water fountain feature in Savannah Georgia.

They also added these column at the entrance

and I love this new organic swing.  Literally made out of just wood and ropes.

the park as usual looks tidy and well maintained.

afterwards, we watch the sunset and walked around the park before heading home.

Romantic Lazy Shawl Pattern

Back in July, I learned the "Romantic Lazy Shawl" crochet pattern on the back of ball of yarn.  And I have been in love with this pattern ever since.  I've used it for all sort of things.  Here's my recent project with this pattern.

I made one into an afghan.  I love the colors and the outcome.

Flower Power!

cause my love knows, it takes only one flower to put a smile on my face

Crochet cover up

I'm a free spirit, but I'm still too modest to leave the Yoga studio with my yoga outfit on.  thus the crochet cover up.

I made on one night binging on Netflix.  Made with two spool of medium worsted yarn by Michaels.

Crochet headband

Love making crochet headbands.  I give mine an extra width to serve dual purposes.  and you can wear 'em in two ways.

Not only does it keep your hair in place, it also serves as ear warmers.

USB wall charger

I was at the atl airport recently and noticed that the power charger socket on the wall were made to fit USB cell phone charger.  I was amazed at the upgrade.  So I was even amazed that I can have this convenience at home.  My budget will not allow for a wireless charger just yet.  But I did order this 4 port usb wall charger on ebay.  and it has been a blessing.

It works great and organizes my charging station way better.  No more looking to pair USB chargers.  I can now charge multiple things on one charger without having to pair them with prongs.  So for $10 bucks this was definitely a must have.

I can now charge my phone, mp3 player, tablet, and bluetooth speaker with ease.

Crochet Hexagon Sweater

One of my favorite thing to crochet is this hexagon sweater.  It is so easy to crochet.  It is made of two piece of hexagon shape. Folded in an L shape.  I am planning to do a tutorial on YouTube so  make sure to subscribe to my channel.  http://www.YouTube.com/alicmiran

crochet hexagon sweater.  I used an 11.5 mm crochet hook or size "P"
13 rows

I used a "G" hook for this hexagon sweater

I also used the "P" crochet hook for this hexagon sweater

this is also a hexagon sweater with a simple variation to fit the season.

Crochet Cover Up

Ordered something online at walmart and waiting for them to process my order.  While I wait for them, I wanted to share this with you guys.  I made it last night cause it's not cold enough for a sweater but I felt improper with just my yoga outfit on.

Ottis Redding Park in Macon Georgia

I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful day today.  It has been raining for almost two weeks here in middle Georgia, so I was happy to see that the clouds have subsided and the sun is out.  Went for a walk and ended up at the Ottis Redding Park, to find that it is partially under water.

I found me a spot in front of the water fountain to catch up on some reading.
I am thankful for my simple easy life.
